Dear Friends,
This last month has been exciting and busy for me. I've sold a few crafts and I'm working away on the first few chapters of my novel. I'm sure many of you know what I'm talking about. Just lately, I sat down to look at my weekly schedule to see if I could move stuff around so I had more personal writing time…

I've been hearing the rumors and I've been part of the discussions in writer's groups. I'm a writer and an editor of Stories for Children Magazine. I've supported Amazon for many years. I even have an Amazon bookstore on my magazine's site. The idea of the bookstore? To help promote those who write and illustrate for us. But how can I do that now if Amazon is forcing its hand? What do I mean by that? Many of the books in the SFC bookstore are PODs or self published. A lot of our contributors hav…

If we teach our kids to watch birds and admire flowers when they are young, we are teaching them to respect others. My daughter when we she was 5 years old, she will try to pluck the colorful flowers from the bushes and crush them. I told her that the flowers are there to be admired and not to be crushed like that. From then onwards she took a keen interest in looking at different flowers, their colors and their fragrance. She would ask hundreds of questions to me and wait for an explanatio…

My own daughters have always provided me with plenty of inspiration, but now that they are teens (17 and 13!!) I have fallen out of touch with the hot new stuff that's been coming out for younger kids. Can anyone suggest some titles for me to check out at my local library?
Also, please visit my website and sign my guestbook and read my blog there!
