On WillowRaven's Drawing Table... Children's Books by Susan Kneib Schank, Connie Arnold, Lea Schizas, and Lacresha Hayes

At any given time, I can have anywhere from one to seven projects in the works. This of course does not include cover art, unless it is sff or some other genre that requires traditional art work or the occasional text layout for a novel.

So at times, people may be waiting a bit on me to complete their book so it can go to print. They are often informed by me or the publisher that "the illustrator is doing your book now", where they get all excited thinking I will be done in a week & off to the printers they will go.

Needless to say, it rarely happens that way... especially when it comes to children's book illustration.

Authors often are not aware that I am working on more projects than just theirs or even how an artist will often hit a block in creativity similar to writer's block.

That is one reason why I like working on several projects at once, when I hit a snag or boredom on one theme, I just switch to another theme until the creative juices get flowing again in the right direction.

Working with authors though has given me an understanding that they need to see progress in their creation to stay enthused about promoting their books, especially in pre-sale time which is usually when it's in my care).

As a result, I am stealing my own idea I had with the Katie-Bear promotional slide... why not make one about my progress. That way authors can see where I am at on their books, they can use them to help promote their book, I can subtly remind them I have not been neglecting them - but trying to juggle several books at once, & prospective future clients can see the diversity in my work... all at the same time.

So here is the "On WillowRaven's Drawing Table" slide book show... preview... thingy...lol.

Let me know what you think.
