About Christine:

Born into a family of poets, authors, sportswriters, inventors and business owners, New England based, Christine Whitmarsh set out early in life on a similarly innovative path of creative writing, music and journalism. Along the way that path branched out to brief careers as an EMT and a registered nurse where Christine picked up management and problem solving skills that would eventually serve her well as a business owner.

Christine’s early creative roots also included acting, screenwriting, directing and producing. She wrote, directed and produced her first film, “View From the End” in 2000. “View From the End” premiered at Paramount Studios and received many accolades. During 2002, Christine worked on animation and reality show projects with Smorgasbord Productions in Hollywood, garnering attention from several well known producers.

In 2003, Christine founded Christine, Ink, a national full service writing firm serving individuals and businesses everywhere, with a targeted focus in Southern California. As the firm’s owner, Christine enjoys working with valued corporate clients in a variety of industries. Some of Christine, Ink’s writing services include website copywriting, marketing collateral copy, book ghostwriting, technical writing, press releases and screenplays.

In 2005 Christine was hired by director Jack Piandaryan of Piandaryan Films to script doctor, cast and produce his feature film “The Parallel”. The drama features a cast of up and coming young stars and an equally exciting soundtrack featuring a variety of emerging bands and artists. “The Parallel” is due out on DVD in 2007.

In addition to her duties as president of her company Christine is a journalist, classical flutist, and author. Her work in the community has included volunteering for the Special Olympics, American Heart Association as a CPR Instructor, Hospice and tutoring students in English/language arts.

Christine's greatest personal mission in life and for her company is to rekindle a universal passion for the written word and language. To support this mission in 2006 she created “Words the Movement”. One of the movement’s primary goals is to spark a passion for words, especially written language, in young people. The movement has thus far been successfully, gaining a following on MySpace. The movement quickly expanded into an online store stocked with apparel and gifts all dedicate to freedom of speech and the power of words to affect positive change in the world. Christine’s first book, “One Citizen’s Words was published in February 2007.

Why should kids read?
Because the power we have to express ourselves using words is an invaluable tool in shaping the progress of our world. Without reading, and the subsequent love of words that comes from avid reading, we truly will become a society left to communicate via instant messaging on cave walls.
